Koh Phangan may be known for its infamous full moon party, however, this island offers plenty of things to do for every traveller…

Explore the island on a moped

A good way to see the island is to rent a scooter and travel around the north of the island.

The north of Koh Phangan features a gorgeous coastline. Spend a day exploring the tranquil white sandy beaches, including Chaloklum beach and Mae Haad Beach to name a few.

Wang Sai Waterfall is another cool place to check out. Slightly more difficult to find than others but worth making the effort. You can access this waterfall from the top end to look over the edge, or from the bottom where there is a pool perfect to take a dip.

Party the night away

Half Moon Party

Twice a month, two weeks either side of the full moon party, Koh Phangan hosts a half-moon party. These events are hosted in the jungle as opposed to the beach and music is less mainstream with techno, house and electronic music at the forefront. The event can be quite pricey though, with a bucket of vodka Redbull costing as much as 750 baht (£18.70)! Therefore, pre-drinking is definitely a good option if you are on a budget.
